Video game publisher Square Enix has announced that it is working with Georges St-Pierre in order to develop some elements of the upcoming Sleeping Dogs video game, including combat and motion animation.

St-Pierre will allow the development team to create an intuitive and complex hand-to-hand combat system that will be at the heart of the Honk Kong experience that Sleeping Dogs offers, alongside shootout and quick races.

The well-known mixed martial arts champion, has stated, “Working with Square Enix has been an incredible opportunity. I’m really impressed to see how the hand-to-hand combat in the game is shaping up – it’s been a great experience being involved.”

Lee Singleton, the leader of the Square Enix London Studios, added, “When it comes to professional fighting, names don’t get much bigger than GSP. We are thrilled with the expertise that GSP brings to Sleeping Dogs.”

Sleeping Dogs will be launched on home console and the PC on September 1 of this year.
