George Zimmerman will be having his weapon returned from the police impound now that he has been cleared of murder charges in the Trayvon Martin case.

His lawyer Mark O'Mara describes that there is no reason for Zimmerman not to be allowed his firearm back.

Since Zimmerman “is not a convicted felon, he can keep his gun,” confirms law professor Darren Hutchinson of the University of Florida for NBC News.

Zimmerman could be fearing for his life now that the trial is over. As I wrote, the decision has prompted protests in Los Angeles, all over the Sunshine State and even as far as New York.

He could also be facing civil charges as the NAACP is demanding that he be not released.
