Rivera believes that the women on the jury would have felt threatened

The George Zimmerman trial has long turned into a national-wide debate on gun control, racism and the “Stand your ground” law.

After previously mentioning that it was Trayvon Martin's hoodie that got him killed, Geraldo Rivera has spoken about the case again on “Fox & Friends,” HuffPost reported.

Rivera makes a very controversial statement, saying that the all-female jury at Zimmerman’s trial would have done the exact same thing if placed in the same situation.

They would have felt cornered and panicked and they would have shot Martin, Rivera says. I guess that we will find out if he is right as the defense finishes opening statements today and the jury begins deliberations

“So it's a dark night, a 6-foot-2-inch (188-cm) hoodie-wearing stranger is in the immediate housing complex. How would the ladies of that jury have reacted? I submit that if they were armed, they would have shot and killed Trayvon Martin a lot sooner than George Zimmerman did,” Rivera describes.
