You might have been following “Game of Thrones” ever since it came out on TV and only then because your friends simply wouldn't shut up about it, but the stories have existed much longer than that, and true fans have been making theories for years about how the books are going to end.

In light of the recent boost of popularity, author George R.R. Martin has disclosed that some fans have managed to foretell the way in which his books are going to end, just by reading carefully and picking up on the clues he purposely left in the book, according to Metro.

“So many readers were reading the books with so much attention that they were throwing up some theories and while some of those theories were amusing [expletive] and creative, some of the theories are right,” Martin explained during a conference.

Moreover, “At least one or two readers had put together the extremely subtle and obscure clues that I’d planted in the books and came to the right solution.” The author did not mention who those fans were and what their solution was, so you'll have to wait and see or begin making suppositions yourself.

The thing is that, despite the fact that Martin's own vision has been revealed, he doesn't plan to change it now just so he can surprise the few fans that have caught on, “I’ve wrestled with this issue, because I do want to surprise my readers. I hate predictable fiction as a reader, I don’t want to write predictable fiction. I want to surprise and delight my reader and take them in directions they didn’t see coming.”

“But I can’t change the plans … I wrestled with that issue and I came to the conclusion that changing it would be a disaster, because the clues were there. You can’t do that, so I’m just going to go ahead,” Martin added.

The writer is banking on the fact that not many people read the conclusions reached by a handful of people, so the vast majority is still going to be surprised when the last two books come out. As a side note, for those that are not familiar, Martin is still in the process of finishing “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring.”

Fans are hoping that the next book will be out soon, before the TV show catches up to the story depicted in the novels.
