The "Careless Whisper" singer doesn't want to take an HIV test, arguing that he does not believe in them. Now George, allow me to be frank. I agree that no one lives forever. If someone has HIV (God forbid!), one dies a little faster, but most important, one can cause others to die faster as well. So taking a test has a definite importance, maybe not for you, but for the people around you.
George has added that he cannot stand to wait for the results of the test, which is another reason why he has not taken one in more than three years. But perhaps the true reason is that George is scared of the possibility that he might be infected (he admitted that at some point). I've got just one question: what did you do, George? Do you have a terrible dark secret? For your sake, I hope you don't.
Everybody remembers when back in 1998 George attempted to initiate sex with a police officer in a Beverly Hills public toilet, It was on that occasion that the singer admitted that he was gay. Now, considering the possibility that George might be some kind of exhibitionist, he may have done something, I'm not saying what, some three years ago, that has caused him to be very afraid of having HIV.
He said it himself that he took his last test three years ago. Well, if it didn't kill you to take a test back then, I'm pretty sure it is not going to kill you to take one now. There is a chance however that George is simply too god damn scared to take the test one more time, case in which, I'm not afraid to say it, he is nothing more than a chickens**t. I believe that knowing one's HIV status should be considered an obligation for everybody in the world.
Whatever the answer might be, I am puzzled by one thing in particular. Why did George tell everybody he is not going to take an HIV test? So that everybody in the world would know this about him? I can't really see how this will do nothing else but tarnish his image, and he is too great of an artist to deserve that. Take me for instance: I have great respect for George Micheal-the artist, but after reading this, I am ashamed of George Michael-the man.
Since George Michael turned 44 this Monday, all I can say is: play safe, George!
