Leave it to a comedian to get caught passed out drunk and make fun of the whole incident. While other celebrities would have buried their faces in shame over such a public display, comedian George Lopez didn't seem to be at all phased by the fact that a photo with him passed out drunk on a casino floor made the rounds on the Internet.

George Lopez was subsequently arrested for public intoxication on Thursday for being drunk in a casino in Canada, but he was able to laugh at himself and the entire matter. He told People Magazine, “Tied one on last night. Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off, unfortunately, it was on the casino floor.”

A photo with a man lying sprawled in a awkward position on what seemed to be a casino floor made its way on Twitter and the author claimed the man was Lopez. Needless to say, the photo was shared many times and it didn't improve people's perception of the comedian.

Local police forces confirmed that they were called in at the Caesars Windsor on Thursday evening by the resident security team and that they took a male into custody from inside the casino bar. “We can confirm that at 11:25 p.m. Windsor police officers received custody of a male from the OPP Casino Enforcement Unit.”

Luckily for Lopez, there were no charges filed against him and he was later released. “The male was subsequently released with no charges,” says the same police report. He was simply taken to a drunk tank and left to sober up, after which they let him go free.

It has been reported that the 52-year-old had been performing inside the casino the night of the incident and he was also set to appear at the same venue on Friday evening too.

Judging by his tongue-in-cheek statement after the incident, Lopez is certainly going to use this arrest in his next performance as a great story to tell the audience and maybe get an extra laugh out of them.

It's worth noting that George Lopez successfully underwent a kidney transplant procedure in 2005, which was brought on by a genetic condition that caused deterioration in his kidneys. He received the organ from his then-wife Ann, whom he later divorced in 2011 and with with whom he has one child, a daughter.

The comedian is currently starring in the new FX show “Saint George” that is set to premier on March 6.
