It didn't take long for George Clooney's marital bliss to be over. After a dream wedding in Venice that had all the markings of a high-brow affair, with celebrity guests, fancy location, and even fancier food, it's now time to get back to reality. That reality came to hit Clooney like a truck.

Insiders quoted by the Daily Star claim that the actor's face changed at the wedding as soon as his new father-in-law, Ramzi Alamuddin, took the microphone for the customary speech, and after giving the toast, concluded matter-of-factly: “Now it's time for some grandchildren!”

Ramzi Alamuddin, Amal's father, wants Clooney to start having babies

He must have been in a hurry to become a grandfather, but George certainly isn't rushing to become a father. Considering the fact that it's taken him so long to get married, it's going to be some time until he decides on having children.

The couple wasn't in a hurry to consummate their marriage, as it's reported that they spent until the early hours of the morning with guests at their wedding, somewhere around 5am. That meant that they had to renounce on their wedding night.

The day after wasn't very good for cuddling either, since they were seen again out in Venice, this time for a brunch with family and friends, followed of course by armies of paparazzi that sent waves throughout the entire town, literally – gondoliers complained that the increase in boat traffic sent many waves on the city's many narrow canals and spoiled their business.

The last guests were seen to leave Venice as late as today, a good 4 days after the first celebrations began, meaning that George's wedding is going to be one for the history books.

George's political career might require him to become a father soon

Many have speculated that George's decision to get married after all these years of being Hollywood's most coveted bachelor had a lot to do with his recent political aspirations. Insiders confirm that George is gunning for the Oval Office and for that he needed a wife, but not the kind of woman he was used to dating.

This explains why Clooney switched from cocktail waitresses and wannabe actresses to a renown human rights lawyer with an impressive career, who also happens to be one fine-looking woman.

If the political aspirations theory turns out to be true, then Clooney is going to want children and soon, because polls have shown that Americans favor a family man in the White House, as it makes them feel more secure.
