14 DAY TRIAL // When she arrived on Lake Como earlier this week for a little bit of fun in the sun with George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin surprised everyone. Yesterday, for example, despite the fact that she was wearing a very loose dress, she appeared to be sporting the tiniest of baby bumps.
The Daily Mail has the photos from the outing and it really does look like Amal is carrying a bun in the oven. This has immediately led to speculation that Amal's pregnancy is the reason George Clooney is rushing their marriage. The couple has just announced their engagement a few months ago and now the wedding is set for September.
Many people have wondered how and why George Clooney, a man who described himself as the eternal bachelor and said on numerous occasions that marriage was not for him, had all of a sudden made a one-eighty and fell in love, gotten engaged and planned to marry a girl in the course of just a couple of months.
The pregnancy rumors were made even stronger by the fact that the couple seemed to be very tender during a romantic dinner that same evening. The couple hugged and kissed and many speculated that Amal was hiding a little bundle of joy under the table.
Of course, there is also the speculation that George is marrying Amal, a very powerful yet attractive human rights lawyer, in pursuit of a political career. This speculation was confirmed by at least one member of the Clooney family, who revealed that George was gunning for the Oval Office.
Political analysts pointed out that Clooney could be actually packing some political power if he ever thinks about running for office, and they speculate that he might be setting up his sights on the Governorship of California, which is a good place to earn your stripes if you have intentions of running for president.
We won't know for sure why Clooney is getting married until at least one of these two scenarios takes place: either Amal gives birth to a little Clooney, or the actor announces his run for politics. If we're to believe that baby bump theory, we'd have to say the baby looks like it's coming first.
After spending most of his life single and unattached, the next year is looking like a very big one for Clooney, who could make the move from bachelor to married with children. Either way, it's the end of an era.
