14 DAY TRIAL // For a while there, Stacy Keibler seemed to be “the one” for George Clooney, the girlfriend who might actually get him to change his mind about marriage and long-term commitment. She is now living in fear that, any day now, he might dump her, says a new report.
Stacy attended a recent public event on her own, showing visible signs of strain, a spy says for the New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l section.
Moreover, she’s been telling friends that she fears George might break up with her anytime now.
While at the event, she kept checking her phone for calls or text messages from Clooney, perhaps expecting the worst.
“She was acting really nervous and refused to talk about George. They’re barely talking. She is worried that he may break up with her any day now.”
The report goes on to mention that this has been going on for the past month, with Clooney partly using his new film as an excuse to keep away from his lady love, something he would have never done before.
It’s been driving Stacy crazy, this not knowing what’s in store for her.
“George is being really distant and pulling away from her. She wakes up every morning and doesn’t know what’s going to happen,” another source shares for the same celebrity publication.
There is another aspect to the Clooney romance that Stacy will regret once it’s over, besides the obvious fact that she’s dating the most handsome and sought after bachelor in Hollywood: the attention she’s been getting as his girlfriend.
“She’s well aware that she needs to get as much work as possible right now. She’s working as much as she can,” another tipster dishes.
Last month, rumors first started picking up that George and Stacy might be on the verge of breaking up, but a rep for the actor immediately shut it down.
