Hollywood actor slammed his former pal Jerry Springer, the ex-Cincinnati mayor, by saying he has changed so much because of his TV show. Clooney has made it very clear that he doesn't want to have anything to do with the TV star.
Clooney told reporters in New York: "I'll tell you something funny about that idiot. He was a friend of ours. He was sort of this kind of Kennedy Democrat. Really sharp. Really articulate. My dad (Nick Clooney) gave him his first broadcasting job.
Then he got into that show and slowly it changed and he changed", Clooney added.
According to the actor, Springer, who has resigned from his mayor seat in 1974 after it was discovered that he had paid a prostitute with a personal check that had been found when police raided a massage parlor, changed so much that everyone who knew him is ashamed of him and of what he became.
The star and director of 'Good Night, And Good Luck,' said he has told Springer: "We're ashamed of what you've become. We're ashamed of what you do. You, more than anyone, know what you're doing.
There are the Jenny Joneses of the world who actually think they're performing some sort of a public service, but he knows better."
