Who knew President Barack Obama could elicit such passions among celebrities? Sure, everyone gets into a political dispute now and then, but some celebrities really do care about the President of the United States. The story is that actor George Clooney and Las Vegas casino mogul had a verbal argument that nearly ended in a fist fight.

Page Six is reporting that Clooney and Wynn were having dinner with a bunch of people at Wynn's hotel Encore and it's believed that the actor may have had one too many tequila shots. An eyewitness explains that “George and Rande were in Vegas for a party for their Casamigos tequila and had an early dinner with Wynn and other associates.”

“Things turned nasty as Wynn was provoking George, talking about politics. At first George just wasn’t responding. He just sat there politely listening,” the source goes on, adding that “Steve kept pushing and pushing, then started raising his voice. George still didn’t respond, he really didn’t want to get into it.”

Finally, Wynn found George's weak spot and began to exploit it “Discussing Obamacare, Steve called Obama ‘an [expletive]hole,’” to which Clooney replied “President Obama is my friend, don’t talk about him like that.”

Not missing a beat, Wynn shot back saying “Your friend is an [expletive]hole!” wanting to get a rise out of the actor. Finally, he got his wish, because George told him “No! You are an [expletive]hole, and I’m not going to sit here any more and listen to this!” at which point he got up and left the table.

As you'd imagine, Clooney was visibly angry and when he began pointing his finger at the casino boss, “Wynn’s three goon-like bodyguards immediately loomed up behind Rande and George,” claims the source, but it seems the “Gravity” star got out of there before any physical altercation started.

Wynn later laughed off the incident in the press, “When he's [George] drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the President,” he said, making it sound like Clooney was drunk when he snapped at him.

“Clooney's fun to be with when he's sober ... If you have a chance to drink with him, you want to get there early, and don't stay late,” he added, referring to the actor like he had a drinking problem.

The infuriated actor who would not get involved in the argument, was more blatant in his description of the incident, “It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character.”
