When George Clooney was confirmed as Batman for the 1997 “Batman & Robin,” fans were thrilled at the choice, thinking he would do justice to the much beloved caped crusader. Clooney fared decently but the movie was a dud, lending itself to countless jokes, particularly because creators put nipples on the Batsuit.

Come to think of it, fans are still having a blast with it today, after so many years. Attached to this article is a photo of Clooney in the Batsuit, with the nipples in plain sight.

In a Q&A on Reddit – an Ask Me Anything aka AMA session –, the actor admits that this is one of the things he regrets the most about that movie. In his defense, he would have never imagined that his Batman was the only one to wear a Batsuit with nipples.

“I wasn’t thrilled with the nipples on the batsuit. You know that’s not something you really think about when you’re putting it on. You figure all batsuits have nipples and then you realize yours was really the first. Batman was just constantly cold I guess,” Clooney told fans, as cited by Gossip Cop.

Still, he underlines, it’s not like this is the only thing to make him feel terribly embarrassed. On the same note, even if “Batman & Robin” turned out the way it did, he still thinks the experience was great.

“It’s a funny thing, you’ve got to remember that when you’re doing a movie, a lot of times you’re spending 4 or 5 months on set and sometimes you’re making really good friends and sometimes not,” Clooney wrote.

“Some of the best films have been the least fun experiences and some of the worst, I’ve made lifelong friends out of it. It’s the kind of thing where the memory of the film is very different than how it was reviewed, because it’s months out of your life and you end up making close friends or having great experience on films that don’t necessarily work. And that’s a tricky thing to come to terms with,” he added.

Clooney also covered other topics like his charitable work, his famous friends like Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock, his favorite co-stars and the pranks they pull on each other.

The Batman question was a given, considering the buzz around Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” sequel, which will feature the character, this time played by Ben Affleck. Batman was previously brought to life on the big screen in Chris Nolan’s trilogy “The Dark Knight,” with Christian Bale. For many fans, there is no topping Nolan and Bale’s accomplishment.
