Even if, for the second time in a row, he was honored by 'People' magazine with the 'sexiest man alive' distinction, George Clooney is having a very rough year in terms of the lives of his pets. After losing a bulldog at the beginning of this year, his second favorite pet, who was sharing the Hollywood Hills home with him, the Oscar-winning actor is again in mourning. On Friday, while he was on the road promoting his latest movie, 'The Good German' (out on theaters on December 15), George learned that his 300-pound potbellied pig passed away. Max was in George's custody ever since he split up with his former girlfriend Kelly Preston (approximately 18 years ago), but their relationship was much older than that. Max was not just a regular pig: he lived in the same house as the handsome actor and even slept in his bed. In January 2005, he made it into all the headlines for 'prematurely dying' (although it was not the case) and, even earlier, he was involved in a 'car accident' when one of his master's friends ran him over as he trotted out in the park on a moonless night. George says Max was his friend and that the pain his passing caused him is not likely to go away that soon. 'He just died, like an hour ago. He was an old pig as the vets had ever seen. I was really surprised, because he's been a big part of my life. Max, the star', the actor said in an interview taken the very same sad day. The bad year (pet-wise) that George has been having has finally convinced him not to take another one. Plus, he doesn't have the time to take proper care of them anymore, with all the projects he's got in line for 2007. 'It's been a bad year for my pets. It's strange how animals become a big part of your family. They really become a big issue with you. No [I will not get another pig]. I think Max covered all my pig needs', Clooney concluded by saying.
