One of the tasks mentions a “creepy” neighbor watching people with a telescope

A substitute math teacher from Tulsa has been dismissed over parents complaining about their children being assigned “unusual” homework.

Examples of the math exercises given out by the Nathan Hale High School substitute range from items referencing Ted Bundy to problems discussing stalkers.

"Serial killer Ted Bundy has a 20-foot (6-m) ladder leaning against his favorite tree. The ladder makes a 64-degree angle with the ground. What distance up the tree does the ladder reach?" one math problem goes.

Concerned mom Christina Mattaliano complained about "Mr. Rodgers," as he is referred to in a piece by WPTV.

She mentions her tenth-grade son first hearing about Bundy through the geometry tasks, adding that she has been utterly shocked by another exercise featuring a peeping neighbor.

"Creepy John watches his neighbors with a telescope. Their apartment is 12 ft (3.6 m) from the ground. John's is 36 ft (11 m). If the angle of depression from John's apartment is 47 degrees, how far apart are the two apartment buildings?" it reads.

She argues that the problems would have been as educational without the use of the serial killer's name, and she doesn't see the reference to the “creepy” neighbor fit.
