With all the hype surrounding existing and upcoming tablets, it is no surprise to hear that another company intends to bring out such a thing, only Genius does not seem keen on joining the media slate crowd, resolving, instead, to increase the number of MousePen graphics tablets by two, those called M508 and M508W.

The Genius M508 and M508W are peripherals meant to act as touchpads with dedicated controls for the various digital graphics tasks that one may carry out on them.

Both MousePen models come with a 5 x 8-inch working area and can toggle between the widescreen aspect ratio and the 4:3 depending on user preference.

Furthermore, the newcomers employ 1,024-level pressure sensitivity with the included Bluetooth-connected pen, and their resolution is of 4,000 LPI.

Basically, these products should let anyone express their artistic tendencies quickly and easily, or perform any other task based on direct input.

In addition to the 'basic' functionality, the two newcomers include, on their surface, 13 keys that can be programmed.

They also boast four hardware keys above the working area itself, and all of these controls come as a bonus to the dedicated controls meant to handle scrolling, zooming and control over brush attributes.

The MousePen M508 connects to the PC through a wire and will sell for $149 when it eventually starts shipping next month.

As for the M508W touchpad, it is superior to its sibling by virtue of its wireless connectivity, though this will, of course, warrant the higher price point of $199.

Nevertheless, both have the same role and functions and are compatible with the Windows 7 and Mac OS operating systems.

The product page of the M508 has already been set up and can be found here, whereas the one belonging to the M508W can also be found on the official website..
