They work with any product as long as a 3.5 mm jack is present

The market for portable speakers has just gotten a little larger, although not by much, since a single audio product can hardly shake the world.

The new item that Genius made still has all it needs to send out a few ripples though, being the sort of invention that travelers will like.

It is actually somewhat surprising that this is the case, considering that the SP-i250G, as the item is called, is advertised as part of the GX Gaming series.

At any rate, the Taiwanese company promises that “SP-i250G brings amazing dynamic sound performance when one is playing games or listening to all kinds of music anywhere.”

There are two 40mm neodymium speakers in this system, both of them of the omnidirectional stereo variety.

They each get their own pouch and are described as fully capable of producing deep low notes, not just normal or high ones, despite the relatively small size.

The stereo sound field is of 360 degrees and the volume can be controlled via rotary switch that also shuts the system on and off.

Furthermore, both speakers have LED rings around their midsection (will change to different colors while the music plays).

Not only that, but the sound signal is smoothly transmitted, and with a minimum of noise, due to the gold-plated plug.

Genius advertises the speakers as ideal for iPods, MP3/MP4 players, notebooks, cell phones and anything else capable of playing songs, as long as a 3.5 mm audio jack exists.

The one thing that is missing is wireless support, but these things are, in the end, still speakers, which means that they do need more energy than earphones. On that note, the company tossed in a lithium battery that can last for up to eight hours before needing to be recharged (via USB).

We have no pricing and availability details to hand out, but the order page will be updated with this info at some point in the future.
