A Corvette owned by Dan Akerson, CEO at General Motors, has been sold at auction for $270K (€202K) in Scottsdale, sources say.

As I told you earlier, the Barrett-Jackson event took place in Scottsdale, Arizona over the weekend. Former president George W. Bush's truck was also sold, for $300k (€225k).

Rick Hendrick, Corvette collector and owner of Hendrick Motorsports, took home the 1958 vehicle. The hardtop convertible is painted in Regal Turquoise.

Only 510 items, out of 9,168, were manufactured in that color, in 1958. According to Motor Authority, the car is powered by a V-8 engine rated at 245 horsepower.

Proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Habitat for Humanity non-profit organization, aiming to help rebuild Detroit’s Morningside Commons neighborhood.
