After spending 28 years together, rocker Gene Simmons and partner Shannon Tweed have finally tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony over the weekend. It will air on the couple’s reality show.

A rep for the couple confirms for People magazine that Simmons, best known for being the bassist in KISS, and Shannon, with whom he has two children, have made their time-enduring romance legal.

No less than 400 guests were in attendance at the wedding reception, including the couple’s two children.

The ceremony that saw the two say their “I Dos” was held on the crystal lawn at the Beverly Hills Hotel, People writes.

“Tweed, 54, walked down the aisle in an ivory Priscilla of Boston gown – one of three dresses she chose for the big occasion – and carried a bouquet of ivory garden roses,” the celebrity magazine writes.

“The couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves in front of 400 guests including Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher and his fellow KISS members (Paul Stanley was in the wedding party),” the same publication notes.

The entire ceremony, including the personalized vows, will air on the couple’s reality show, “Family Jewels,” during the October 18 episode.

“Also in attendance were the couple’s two children Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19, who was the maid of honor,” People further says.

“And their planned first dance is quite fitting for a couple who have been together for almost three decades: ‘At Last’ by Etta James, to be performed by their daughter Sophie,” adds the publication.

In post-engagement interviews, Simmons promised he would try “his best” to be faithful to Shannon, but that he couldn’t swear he would never be with another woman.

At the same time, he underlined that 62 is a good age for “growing up” and settling down, and said that there was no other woman on this planet (his mother included) to whom he could say “I love you” with all his heart.
