With NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 400 cards running rampant, makers of VGA coolers are, naturally, quite eager to build upon the growing amount of sales by offering a new cooling solution for them, Gelid having even upgraded its ICY VISION model in this regard.
Though not nearly as hot as the GF100-enabled GTX 480 card, the more recently released GeForce GTX 460 and GTS 450 have already proven to be a good avenue for customization and special cooling.
As such, it is not entirely surprising to hear of custom-cooled models with or without factory overclocked frequencies.
Still, there are also those companies that, instead of releasing a new card, prefer to deal in products meant to complement them.
One such company is Gelid Solutions, whose ICY VISION VGA cooler has now gained support for the two latest Fermi cards.
The ICY VISION has had support for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 for a while now.
In fact, not only those two, but even the GeForce 9800 and the AMD Radeon HD 4800 and HD 5800 series of video boards are supported.
Now, Gelid has added support for the GTS 450 and GTX 460 as well, so that they too may experience lower operational temperatures.
For those interested in the exact specifications, the cooler has 85 aluminum fins, a copper base and five heatpipes to link between them.
The cooler also utilizes a pair of 92mm fans with a UV-reactive ball bearing and a rotary speed of 2,000 RPM.
All in all, the cooler measures 216 (L) x 95 (W) x 52 (H) mm, weights 465 grams and has a sound output of 26 dBA.
The revised Gelid ICY VISION can be bought for $55/46 Euro, is compatible with CrossFireX and SLI multi-GPU configurations and can be found described in detail on its official
product page.
