14 DAY TRIAL // Cooling company Gelid has just announced the Slim Silence A-Plus 1U CPU cooler, on its official website. The new cooling solution is targeted at systems that require a small/slim heatsink with an embedded fan.
Gelid’s Slim Silence A-Plus 1U CPU cooler works best in Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, HTPC, Panel PC, Car PC and 1U server enclosures, delivering decent performance and ensuring good cooling capacity with potential for quiet operation.
We say “potential for quiet operation” because although the Slim Silence A-Plus 1U CPU cooler comes with two heatpipes, the fan is small and the company only rates a 95-watt maximum heat dissipation capability in well-ventilated cases.
As the fan is PWM controlled, it is clear that if the case airflow is not ideal as it often happens in small enclosures, the rotation speed will be increased and quiet operation is out of discussion.
The new cooler is compatible only with AMD's AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1 sockets and pricing is slated at $25 or €20 for the European buyers.
