Over the course of the past months, suppliers of memory products have been holding a veritable competition in terms of clock speeds. In fact, it can be said that new records were set in terms of DDR3 capabilities, as is evident from just looking at the 2,625 MHz Dominator GTX from Corsair. Golden Emperor Int'l Ltd., GeiL in short, appears to want a slice of this market, but still seems more concerned with stability and price/performance ratio. As such, it developed the Ultra Plus and Value Plus series of DDR3.

Ultra Plus and Value Plus are supposedly aimed at overclockers and users that don't necessarily want to break any world records. Judging by their names, it can be assumed that the former line is the more performance-oriented of the two, whereas the latter focuses on price accessibility. Unfortunately, assumptions is all that consumers will get for now, since GeiL decided not to make the specifications public.

The only think made plain is that both families use the same, newly-designed Plus heatspreader, a heatsink system that boasts a Hyper Gunmetal finish. The other feature is the DBT Enhanced, Die-hard Burn-in technology, which ensures the highest level of quality. Unfortunately, consumers will have to wait a while before actually finding out the clock speeds and capacities of each module and kit. The company didn't say how long it will be until this information becomes available, but it shouldn't be overly long.

In the meantime, interested end-users will be able to save up in anticipation of their new purchase, though the exact prices are just as mysterious as the devices themselves. In fact, that they will be backed by a lifetime warranty is all that is known of the series' marketing details. Until they do start selling, customers can periodically stop by the official website and check to see if any new details have surfaced.
