On Tuesday, Spanish phone maker Geeksphone announced expanded availability for its Geeksphone Revolution handset, which is now up for grabs in various European markets via Amazon.

The device was put up for sale in Spain via Amazon only a few days ago and is now available through the retailer in markets such as France, Germany, and the United Kingdom as well.

Moreover, Geeksphone noted that the phone would become available through Amazon Italy as well, in the very near future.

The company also announced that, for one week, Geeksphone Revolution would be available for purchase with a special retail price tag of only €239 ($330), which would mark a 30 percent discount when compared to the regular price.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the smartphone was launched with dual-boot capabilities packed inside, allowing users to choose between Mozilla´s Boot2Gecko (Firefox) and Google’s Android operating systems at start up.

The handset was announced last year with the 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor Z2560 packed inside, featuring Intel Hyper-Threading technology, which would provide it with the possibility to deliver advanced multi-tasking, increased performance, and long battery life.

“While being a powerful device, its most innovative feature is the user’s capability to change its operating system without voiding the warranty. Geeksphone will provide Google Android operating system or other alternatives, such as the one based on Mozilla technology,” the company notes.

The smartphone also includes a 4.7-inch IPS touchscreen capable of delivering a qHD resolution, as well as 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory. Moreover, it comes with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, which supports up to 32GB of external storage.

The mobile phone also arrives on shelves with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, with flash and full HD video recording capabilities, as well as with a front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Geeksphone packed the device with a 2000mAh battery inside, as well as with the usual set of connectivity capabilities, including HSDPA up to 21Mbps, HSUPA up to 5.76Mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and built-in GPS receiver.

“With the start of its sales in the main European markets, through Amazon, Geeksphone shows its international character which led it to sell more abroad than in Spain, confirming the brand as a one of the technologic companies with major potential in the upcoming years,” the company said.

The same as before, the Geeksphone Revolution remains available for purchase through the vendor’s own website as well.
