Geeks Aren't in Kansas Anymore, Britney Spears Shoves Larry Page Aside on Google+

As the early adopter crowd gets bored with Google+, the amount of people claiming that it's dead, it's over, it's done, it will never catch on and so on is growing.

That's probably a good sign since it's around the time the early adopters get bored with something that everyone else starts enjoying it. That seems to be the case with Google+ as well and you need no better evidence than the name of the most followed (circled) person on the site.

Whereas, until recently, Google CEO Larry Page had the most followers, Britney Spears has just overtaken him. Chances are, this isn't temporary.

While the lead is small for now, it will only grow bigger. Based on the current trends, Britney Spears seems poised to become the first person to reach one million followers on Google+.
