Microsoft has recently announced that it sealed a deal with the metal band Megadeth to have Gears of War become the official sponsor for Gigantour 2, the second edition of the heavy metal music festival organized by the band's leader, Dave Mustaine.

For those interested, Lamb of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, Into Eternity, Sanctity, and the Smashup will also be appearing on tour, with more second stage acts to be named at a later date.

Gigantour is scheduled to begin on September 7th in San Diego, California, following a winding trail through North America until October 8th in Sunrise, Florida, only a few days after Gears of War is rumored to be released. Oddly, Gears of War is also a title on the latest Megadeth record United Abominations, as confirmed by Dave Mustaine on their site a while ago. Coincidence?
