Gears of War, one of the biggest Xbox 360 exclusive franchises out there, is currently rumored to receive some sort of support for Kinect, Microsoft's new motion detection system, released a few weeks ago for the console.

Such a thing isn't true, however, as the creator of the franchise and the lead designer of the upcoming Gears of War 3 iteration, Cliff Bleszinski, revealed on Twitter that there won't be any support for Kinect in the upcoming game.

A few days ago, IGN revealed a report, coming from a "reliable source" that some sort of Gears of War experience with Kinect support will be revealed at the Spike TV Video Game Awards, which will be held this December.

The report didn't go into details about what type of Gears of War experience will be revealed, but many quickly jumped to conclusions that Gears of War 3 will be receiving support for Kinect.

That's not true, as Bleszinski, Epic Games' lead designer and the creator of the series, denied such a thing using his official Twitter account, simply saying that: "No Kinect in Gears of War 3."

Bleszinski didn't go into any details or specifics, so perhaps a Gears of War plus Kinect announcement might be made next month, but the experience won't be a full pledged game in the gritty first person shooter series.

Up until now, Kinect has sold an impressive amount of units, but its game library isn't exactly catering to the hardcore gamers that already had Xbox 360 consoles, instead relying on music and rhythm games, as well as party or casual titles.

If a more hardcore franchise, like Gears of War, would embrace Kinect, then perhaps some of the fans of the series would opt to buy the new peripheral for their Xbox 360.

Would you be interested in Gears of War Kinect or should the series just back off from Microsoft's new device?
