14 DAY TRIAL // Epic Games has confirmed that a brand new downloadable content pack for Gears of War 3 will be released at the end of next month, in the form of the Forces of Nature add-on.
Gears of War 3 has been released last September and, since then, Epic Games, its developer, has kept on releasing lots of new content for the third person shooter.
Now, in order to keep players hooked to the game’s multiplayer mode, the studio has confirmed that a new DLC pack called Forces of Nature will make its way onto the Xbox 360 on March 27.
Included in the add-on are five maps, three of which are completely new: Aftermath, Artillery, and Cove, while two are coming back from previous games: Jacinto from Gears of War 2 and Raven Down from the first title.
Each of these maps take place during or after a natural disaster, with Aftermath being torn down by a tsunami and an earthquake, Artillery being hit by a storm and a tornado, while Cove is overrun by fog.
“There are also special weapons hidden in the maps during Horde and Beast mode called “Elemental Cleavers.” The cleavers do different types of damage, like an imulsion cleaver that explodes on impact. Fans will also be treated to four character models and seven new weapon skins. Two of the weapon skins, which were designed based on community feedback, will need to be unlocked. There is also 250 gamerscore points added with this DLC,” Epic confirmed.
The Gears of War 3 Forces of Nature DLC is going to be released on March 27, via the Xbox Live service on the Xbox 360.
There’s no word yet on pricing, but Season Pass buyers will get it for free. In case regular pricing from previous DLCs is kept, the add-on will be priced at 800 MS Points.
