Get it on November 25

Gears of War 2 is going to be a very massive title for Epic Games, the developer, and for Microsoft, the publisher of the game. It is the sequel to the popular original release and is surely going to benefit from high sales considering the large fan base it already has. Epic and Microsoft have really been pulling out all the stops in order to promote this game and with just a few weeks separating us from the retail release of the game on November 7, the anticipation is getting even bigger.

Epic Games have recently announced that following the launch of the game, an album containing the soundtrack of the title would be available in retail stores, on November 25 for fans. Don't think that these are just some boring tracks created to make a few more dollars for Epic or Microsoft because Hollywood composer Steve Jablonsky has worked on them, after previously writing songs for movies like Transformers, The Island or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

“Epic gave me a blank canvas, which was really great. I experimented with a lot of hybrid organic/electronic elements, and combined them with the power of a large orchestra and choir,” said Jablonsky when asked about his work for Epic Games on Gears of War 2. This feeling was also shared by the audio director of the title, Mike Larson.

“It’s been a real treat working with Steve on the score for Gears of War 2. We have a tremendous amount of confidence in him, and believe the Gears community will embrace the new sound. We’ve designed Gears 2 to impact players on a deep emotional level, and much of that connection is made with music that grabs their attention and makes them feel personally involved with the game universe. We have aimed to create something a bit more serious, cinematic, and refined with a harder-hitting approach toward composition and production.”

This definitely is something that Gears of War and music fans might be interested in buying as most of the time, players rarely get the chance to enjoy the music featured in games because of the fast paced action. The album includes titles such as “Hell Breaks Loose”, “Bedlam” or “March of the Horde”.
