Nvidia rolled out a new version for GeForce Experience, which introduces optimization settings for a better balance between performance and quality as well as ShadowPlay-related improvements.

The developer informs that GeForce Experience 1.8.0 offers more control over the tradeoff between performance and quality, along with the possibility to optimize the settings for different display resolutions.

As far as ShadowPlay is concerned, the 3.8GB file limitation under Windows 7 is gone and users can record up to 20 minutes in Shadow Mode, while Manual Mode allows unlimited capture time (when the 3.8GB size cap is reached a new file is created).

Additional enhancements include grabbing the video without rescaling it and preserving the aspect ratio when higher resolutions are available. Sound from the microphone is now also recorded.

According to the developer, stuttering in video grabs has been reduces and the framerate of the capture is now 60.

Installing ShadowPlay should now be easier because the application no longer requires Nvidia "UpdatusUser" user account. Furthermore, it can detect games even in locations with user read-only attribute.
