Police are currently seeking eight men wearing Knicks shirts and jerseys who beat up a gay couple near Madison Square Garden.

According to Gothamist, fans upset over their team losing a game on Sunday, May 5, attacked Nick Porto, 27, and Kevin Atkins, 22. They beat the two men severely, breaking Porto's nose and causing a fracture to Atkins' wrist.

"Fists started flying. I was on the ground, and the only thing I could do, I reached out and grabbed someone's hair," Porto describes.

The New York Police Department have released footage of the men, mentioning that they are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Some of the men are wearing a Carmelo Anthony No. 7 jersey and one of them is reportedly a 6-foot (1.82-m) tall Hispanic man.
