Gateway has just announced the availability of its enhanced FX510 Series high-performance desktop PC featuring latest Intel Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Duo processors. As it has been developed especially for gamers and high-tech enthusiasts, it comes with over-clocking capabilities and a BTX design that provides cool and quiet operation.

"The Gateway FX510 Series offers enthusiasts and other savvy consumers a first-rate system outfitted with the latest and greatest components available for the ultimate in PC performance."

Consequently, in coming weeks, Gateway will also deploy the Intel Core 2 Duo processor into its business desktop PC line as well as into its line of notebook PCs for consumer and business customers to meet a wide range of business, enthusiast and gaming needs.

The new high-performance PC it is coupled with the power of Intel's Core 2 Extreme or Intel Core 2 Duo processors, which are said to be 40 % faster and more energy efficient than the previous Intel Pentium D processor, and it also comes with support for cutting-edge ATI Radeon x1900 CrossFire Edition Graphics.

The Gateway FX510 Series is a viable solution for digital media, entertainment or graphic-intensive applications, as, in addition to the new Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the FX510XG or FX510XT models can be configured with an Intel Core 2 Extreme processor X6800 with 1066MHz FSB and 4MB L2 cache.

The FX510 utilizes an Intel 975X Express chipset with support for RAID 0 and 1 configurations with fast SATA II/300 hard disk drives and can be configured with dual ATI CrossFire graphic cards. In addition to standard 7.1 audio support, the Gateway FX510 Series comes with the option of a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Audio card for high fidelity surround sound audio capabilities.

The FX510 Series desktop PCs can be also configured with an integrated TV tuner and remote control and come standard supporting Intel Viiv technology with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Gateway FX510 Series desktop PCs are pre-installed with a 90-day trial of McAfee Internet Security Suite (Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Spyware, Firewall and Parental Control), and with a pro-active service tool called BigFix.
