Yes, you have read right. Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Apple CEO Steve Jobs will take the stage together at the Wall Street Journal's "D: All Things Digital" conference in 2007. The true question
is will they share the stage or will only one manage to get the center stage? One solution would be to give Gates 93% of the stage and limit Jobs to just under 6%, in accordance with the Windows/Mac OS X shares over the operating system market.

Well, joking aside, Jobs and Gates, "the seminal figures in the development of the personal computer, will make a rare joint appearance at The Wall Street Journal's "D: All Things Digital" conference this year. The two men will jointly discuss the history and future of the digital revolution in an unrehearsed, unscripted, onstage conversation on May 30," reads a fragment of the Wall Street Journal press release.

Although both Gates and Jobs are household names for the D conference, the event is unusual because of the fact that this is the first joint session of the two "seminal figures." However, their appearance at D5 in 2007 will not be limited to the joint session.

In fact, Jobs will have an individual appearance focused on Apple developments, a session that will include details about iPhone and Apple TV. Additionally, Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer, will also be present at D5 in a segment dedicated to Microsoft that will revolve around Windows, Office, Xbox and Zune.

"The D5 conference will also feature an impressive roster of other leaders in technology and media. Confirmed speakers include Google CEO Eric Schmidt; CBS President Les Moonves; Cisco CEO John Chambers; film director George Lucas; online pioneer Steve Case; Time Inc. CEO Ann Moore; News Corp. President Peter Chernin; Palm founder Jeff Hawkins; and Steve Chen and Chad Hurley of YouTube," was added in the press release.
