A new flavor of the Galaxy S III flagship Android device is now available for mobile phone users in the UK, namely Garnet Red, an exclusive to The Carphone Warehouse at the moment.

The retailer is offering the new device model with monthly plans on the networks of various wireless carriers, at different price points.

The new phone flavor sports the same cost as the previously available Pebble Blue and Marble White versions, and, depending on the selected monthly plan, users are even able to grab it for free.

On £28 per month plans, the Galaxy S III is offered for free, yet upgraders will have to go for £36 per month plans to have it at no cost from day one.

There are also Pay As You Go options to select, with the handset priced at £519.95 plus £10 top-up. Those who would like to grab the smartphone SIM-free would have to get £499.95 out of their pockets.

For those out of the loop, we should also note that the Garnet Red Galaxy S III was previously spotted at AT&T in the United States, and that The Carphone Warehouse is the first to unveil it for Europe.

When it comes to hardware specifications, the new color version of the device is identical to the previously launched variants.

Thus, users will enjoy the same large 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display, along with a 1.4 GHz quad-core application processor for increased performance capabilities.

On the back, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel photo snapper that can record videos in full HD resolution. There is also a 1.9MP front facing camera for users to take advantage of when it comes to making video calls.

The smartphone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and sports a nice range of exclusive features, such as S Voice, smart alerts, great social networking capabilities, and the like.

At the same time, it also comes with support for the various services Google has made available for Android, as well as for applications and games listed in the Google Play Store.
