GPS devices come in various qualities, and they can usually plan a travel route based on the information from the satellite network. There are some that have specialized uses though, like the ones that Garmin has just released.

Called Approach G7 and the Approach G8, they are made for golfers.

That's right, if you play golf, you might want to buy one of these because they have 30,000 pre-loaded international courses.

They even have a PlaysLike distance feature that shows range adjusted for uphill and downhill shots.

You can even have the GPS show calls and messages that you get on your iPhone 4S or later.

In the second quarter, Android will be supported as well, so the other smartphones in the world will work with the things.

Garmin's Approach G7 has a price of $299.99 / €221.15 and the G8 sells for $399.99 / €399.99. Both are IPX7-rated (rain-proof and shock-proof) and can zoom in or out on greens (Green View feature).
