After the Colorado shootings, which claimed the lives of 12 and put another 50 in the hospital at a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises,” Warner Bros. has decided to hold reshoots for its upcoming “Gangster Squad.”

The film, whose first trailer arrived online a short while ago, included a scene in which a group of vigilante cops shot at mobsters from behind a movie screen, as they were watching a movie.

Because of the resemblance to the Colorado shootings, Warner has decided to take out that scene and reshoot others more, Variety confirms.

“Given the eerie association created by the Aurora shootings, Warner Bros. has since decided to remove the scene from the film, which opens Sept. 7, and is putting reshoot plans into motion, a source with knowledge of the situation told Variety,” the publication says.

“Gangster Squad” is directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Pena and Robert Patrick.

The first trailer for it is above, including the scene that won't be in the movie when it comes out.
