The display market has definitely not been suffering from a shortage of new LCD monitors and TVs, and EIZO has just official unveiled its latest gaming-oriented model, the so-called Foris FS2331 which boasts a VA panel.

Like all other types of hardware, displays of any kind can be classified into groups according to the consumer segment they are designed for.

The recent product launches have consisted of mostly office-oriented or general-purpose monitors, with different sizes, while TVs have placed an unusually strong emphasis on support for 3D.

Now, EIZO seems intent on offering some sort of variety by creating the Foris FS2331 LCD, which was announced last month and has now started selling.

The newcomer was especially designed for gaming purposes, so it has several advantages over competing solutions.

First of, it has a diagonal with a length of 23 inches, which means it is not too small or too large for most end-users.

Mainly, the image quality and wide viewing angles of 178/178 degrees are achieved thanks to a VA (vertical alignment) panel.

As one would expect, the native resolution of the Foris FS2331 is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, which means that any multimedia file or game should run smoothly even in Full HD quality.

Other specifications include a brightness of 300 cd/m2, the dynamic contrast ratio of up to 10,000:1, a G2G (gray to gray) response time of 7ms and a pair of 0.5W speakers.

Finally, for compatibility with a variety of graphics cards and, thus, many gaming systems, EIZO designed the newcomer with D-sub, DVI and HDMI connectors.

Those that want to see the monitor described in detail need only stop by the official product page that EIZO has already set up on its website.

As for those that are interested in acquiring it, they will have to part with the sum of 476 Euro (the purchase comes with a five-year warranty).
