The GeForce GTX 870/880M discrete card backs up the Core i7 CPU

Many gamers are likely to build their computers from scratch, but there are some people who don't have the inclination or know-how to hunt for parts on retailers. Those people are the target of MSI's latest invention.

Said latest invention is an all-in-one PC with hardware more than good enough to make short work of every game out there.

We're looking at a computer that combines a Core i7 central processing unit (Haswell CPU from Intel) with up to 16 GB of GDDR5 memory and an NVIDIA graphics card.

More precisely, MSI included a discrete graphics card, not unlike those used in mobile PCs (laptops/notebooks as they are otherwise known).

You have two options, just like you can decide whether you want to go all the way to 16 GB or can settle for less.

The GeForce GTX 870M is the “low-end” option, with 3 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, while people with cash to spare can get the GTX 880M instead (8 GB GDDR5).

Storage-wise, we're looking at support for up to three mSATA SSDs, configurable in RAID 0 mode, for up to 1,500 MB/s performance.

Game load times will hardly be called “times” because the whole “loading” process will happen instantly. Plextor is providing the SSDs, so you get the True Speed technology too (stable long-term read/write performance, even beyond what TRIM permits).

Moving on, Micro-Star International installed Killer Ethernet and WiFi adapters (Killer DoubleShot technology), plus a means to classify and prioritize latency-sensitive application traffic for online games (Advanced Stream-Detect).

As for the screen, it is a 27-inch liquid crystal anti-glare matte display with anti-flicker technology. Current is stabilized, preventing the effect that isn't seen with the naked eye but causes eye strain and fatigue.

Finally, the Less Blue Light technology can cut the intensity of the blue light in the RGB spectrum by 75%, further reducing the strain on your ocular organs.

MSI's AG2712 Gaming All-in-One PC should start selling soon, if it hasn't already, with an integrated Yamaha 5W + 5W Speakers & Amplifier (2 full-range speakers and subwoofer, because you should always have good audio to enjoy when playing something, or watching a film) and broad connectivity capabilities (USB 3.0/2.0, networking, card reader, etc.).

Sadly, the price hasn't been released. It definitely won't be low, but at least the power consumption of 230W is decent, and will save a lot on your power bill (desktops with similar specs use 700W+ PSUs).
