Nothing about the console itself however. What if it were all a hoax?

Xbox 360 Fanboy reader Ralph, sends this picture to the gaming site claiming it is a Gamestop promotional poster for the much rumored 120GB hard drive. And it is, no doubt about it, but this small picture (which he claims he got via his Blackberry) doesn't confirm in any way the existence of Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 360 Elite. Why? Well, have you thought that Microsoft's intentions are only to release a bigger 120 GB hard drive for the old SKU model?

Why not, aside HDMI and and IPTV it's the 120 gig hard drive that counts concerning the Elite. Anyway, I'm sure that Microsoft isn't going to leave their fans out in the cold and even if they hadn't been working on the elusive black machined when the rumor emerged, they could have started work on it just to make it all come true.

Earlier this week, photos of what should have been Xbox 360 Elite hardware and package immersed. Spanish gaming site Consolas didn't do a very good job at using whatever photo editor they used and left all sorts of traces that dismissed the possibility of a genuine picture. So it couldn't be Gamestop trying to get attention by leaking the first Elite-related pictures. But everyone seems to want to have a bite at this. It sounds too good to be true, but it's also too rumored not to be true.

Even if Gamestop is into shenanigans every now and then, there's no reason do dismiss the possibility of a very soon release of the much rumored 120 gig hard drive. As for the Xbox 360 Elite, fans still have to wait for Microsoft spokespersons to grab the mic and shout it out loud: "The Elite is indeed what we've been working on recently and now we can finally tell you that we're planning a launch for May." You'd like to hear that, wouldn't you? Who wouldn't?
