Blame them for all the evils in the world

Well, in fact it's the chief executive of McDonald's UK to say that, emphasizing on the childhood obesity issue. Excuse me? Wasn't McDonald's blamed quite often for providing food that makes you obese? You might even remember the famous "SuperSize Me" movie, detailing the entire McDonald's-caused obesity issue.

The McDonald's official claimed that interactive entertainment is to blame for the "virus of the XXIst century", obesity. Steve Easterbrook, chief executive of the above-mentioned company also admitted, when speaking to The Times, that the food and drink industry are as responsible for this issue as are the individuals and the Government. Seems that we spend too much time in front of your consoles and PCs playing games and education is also to blame coupled with lifestyle and fewer green spaces, claims Easterbrook.

We shouldn't forget criminality and family environments pushing us to play games, specially since today's gamers will most likely "teach" game addiction to their offsprings (in case they won't be too busy playing games to get married and have children). OK, so games are now blamed for, let's see... violence, obesity, stupidity, piracy and what else? It's easy to point fingers, in the era of digital entertainment, but McDonald's shouldn't, specially since they'll surely be advertising with the aid of the new media, including in-game ads.

What about the positive aspects of gaming? What about its relaxing features, or the ability of consoles to help scientists develop new treatments by putting their calculus power to the test? And what about that useful Wii helping people during their recovery? No one clicks on a piece of news that says "What good things have games/gaming devices brought to us in the past years", preferring to Google the latest discoveries related to the "evils of gaming". And still they play games...
