Two males, aged 33 and 28, and a woman, 22-year-old, were caught by the Welsh police being accused of distribution of pirated content such as music, movies, games and pornography. The authorities expect an important decrease in the pirated market after the arrest of the three pirates as they were the top providers of illegal content for the UK industry. The two men were released on bail but the investigation will continue as the authorities started a major anti-piracy campaign.

"Even if people buying these discs don't care about the creative people who are deprived of their living by copyright theft, or the local businesses and jobs they are helping to destroy, they should be under no illusions that they are almost certainly funding an organised criminal element who are often engaged in other areas of crime. Fakes may have a lower retail price but carry a far greater social cost," BPI Chief Executive Geoff Taylor said.

In the recent few months, the authorities from all over the world struggled to keep the residents of their countries away from pirated content and find the ones responsible for this illegal activity. Sure, it's not easy to stop this impressive phenomenon because it requires years of investigation and strong evidence to send the pirates to prison but this is an important step in the fight against pirated content.

"This was a very professional investigation by Cardiff Trading Standards, and we expect this successful operation to cause major disruption to the supply and distribution of counterfeit masters nationwide. We extend our thanks to the authorities.Almost every counterfeit CD, film or computer game bought in this country has involved criminal gangs at some point in the process. We urge consumers not to fund criminals by buying these fakes," the BPI official continued.
