This week, we've got a review of
Halo 3: ODST up (no Master Chief included), a
Weekend Reading piece dealing with China and videogaming nationalism and an
EndGameWeek about what we're set to play in our spare time. But there are also some new stories you might want to take a look at.
On Monday, a list of the multiplayer
Perks was leaked for Modern Warfare 2 and everyone instantly began building off their favorite mix in anticipation for the release of the FPS on November 10. But if you like shooting and can't wait, you could take a look at the cooperative-oriented
Borderlands.
On Tuesday, I offered a Counterpoint to the review we posted for
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, showing why the game could have been so much more while we also took a look at the
Prince of Persia movie trailer, which is set to break the curse of videogame to movie conversions.
Wednesday was all about blockbusters, with
Modern Warfare 2 registering record pre-orders before its November 10 official release date and with Shigeru Miyamoto confirming that the new
Zelda videogame for the Wii is set to use the Motion Plus add on that will make sword fighting much more accurate.
Thursday was about Modern Warfare 2 and Infinity Ward. The developer pretty much confirmed that it plans to actually work on a
new intellectual property after it finishes with its current release while it was confirmed that the multiplayer matches in the upcoming release would be
limited to 9 versus 9.
Friday was mostly about Valve, as Direct2Drive, the digital distribution service from IGN, refused to sell
Modern Warfare 2 because it incorporates Steamworks. The company also announced that
Left 4 Dead 2 received more pre-orders than the initial game in the series.
