2 out of 3 online gamers are girls

A recent study shows that 64% of all online gamers are women. The study was performed on U.S. audience and found that there are about 117 million active gamers. About 56% of them play games online and out of this 56%, 2/3rds are women.

The research also shows that the largest percentage of gamers is comprised by teenagers amounting to a 40% extent. Seems like some adults are getting lonely as 15 million of them (about 8% of all active gamers) are playing online games. Persons over 45 are more likely to play online gamers, the study shows. Men still manage to dominate video game community as they outnumber women in the overall video game universe by more than two-to one. Seems like women prefer to interact more through online gaming communities.

The female online gaming community keeps on growing and started to leave its mark. A group of online "girl gamers" decided to pose nude for a calendar. Trust me, these girls don't look like they're spending much time playing on their computers but they look like they've spent a few hours on the aerobics mat. 12 of them posed in different positions and holding different gaming devices for each month of the year. If you want to see Power Gloves and GameBoys on naked skin- then that calendar is for you! (if you are over 18 of course).
