Leading mobile game publisher Gameloft has just announced the availability of a new HD title in the Android Market, namely the BackStab HD.
The game was unveiled a few months ago, when the company released it on Sony Ericsson's Xperia PLAY smartphone, and is now available for the owners of more handsets via Google's official app store.
In BackStab, users will play the role of Henry Blake, a man looking for revenge, who fights various adversaries in a full-3D environment on a beautiful 18th century Caribbean island (more on the game can be found in the video embedded below).
“My name is Henry Blake, once a proud officer in England’s Royal Navy. Now I stand a shattered man. Betrayed, imprisoned, my fiancée taken away, I have now found my freedom - and soon I shall find my revenge,” the story begins.
The new HD title for Android was made available for purchase from the Android Market for $6.99 and can be installed on handsets that run under Android 2.0 and newer OS flavors.
With the new game, Android users will be able to:
- Discover a blockbuster production with the best graphics, an unprecedented story & endless content.
- Experience an action-packed adventure with open environments, deep combat, platforming and more.
- Become a rogue killer with nothing left to live for but vengeance on those who betrayed him.
- Use agility, strength and cunning to get the drop on your target, eliminate them quickly and escape.
- Master the combo-based combat system to slay anyone standing between you and your prey.
As Henry Blake, players will have to climb, jump and sneak through various settings that will bring the character to its target. A combo-based combat system will be available for defeating enemies, all in the aforementioned immersive, realistic world.
Users will also be able to roam on the exotic 3D environments of the island, which includes jungles, beaches, a volcano and more. Not to mention that there are four cities awaiting to be investigated, and new quests and secrets to be found.
Gameloft's BackStab HD can be found in the Android Market here. Keep in mind that the game is not compatible with all Android devices out there.
