As expected, French mobile games developer and publisher Gameloft has released the previously announced Captain America: The Winter Soldier game on Android devices.

For the time being, Android is the only platform the game is available on, but we expect Gameloft to bring the game on Windows Phone and iOS operating systems. Unfortunately, we don’t have any details on when Captain America: The Winter Soldier could arrive on any of these two platforms.

Anyway, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is available as free download on Google Play Store, but it only offers the first two levels for free after which you will be required to pay $2.99 / €1.99 to unlock the full game.

For those interested, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is an action RPG where players control Captain America, along with its Strike Team. You will have to stop the attacks of several criminal organizations and eventually defeat them by taking the battle on their own ground.

Players will be able to upgrade Captain America’s range of skills and powers as they progress into the game, but the Strike Team’s agents can be grown into an even more powerful force as well.

If the Strike Team is not enough to take down your opponents, you will be able to call in Black Widows and Falcon to help turn the tide, but they aren’t always available.

Captain America can learn new fighting techniques and players can also unlock and upgrade his suits. Research skills and items will also help players advance into the story of the game much easier.

According to Gameloft, the game features “an absorbing original action story co-written by Marvel Comics writer Christos Gage.” It is also worth mentioning that the game’s graphics is fully inspired by the comics.

Although Captain America: The Winter Soldier may seem a single-player game at first glance, Gameloft has confirmed that it has added asynchronous multiplayer where players can join a Clan and battle rival players.

As we have mentioned earlier, Captain America: The Winter Soldier for Android is now available for free via Google Play store. Keep in mind though that after the first two levels, you will have to pay $2.99 / €1.99 to unlock the full game.

Developers have also confirmed that Captain America: The Winter Soldier is only compatible with devices powered by Android 4.0 and up. Make sure your phone is connected to the Internet, as Gameloft has announced that this is a mandatory requirement.
