Good at strategy? Great at economy?

"Launch of the Settlers" will be available in the future on mobile phones too, following the trail set by Ubisoft's legendary PC franchise. The strategy game has proved to be a great success up to this point, with sales of up to 6 million units.

As it usually happens with successful game concepts, they tend to be adapted for more than one environment and eventually reach handsets as well. This economic simulation allows players to build their own bustling, medieval city and manage its development wisely.

"Launch of the Settlers" follows the pattern set by many other strategy games that followed a community's evolution. It asks the player to build a working economy, using the natural resources that are provided in the area. The player must also take care that the population's morale is high, in order to increase productivity. With the money earned in time, he can then move on to building tower defenses to fend off enemies and protect the city. That sounds pretty familiar and almost anyone has played such a game at least once on the PC.

"With just a few clicks, you can control your citizens and build a whole unique colony, one that you'll see evolve before your eyes. No other mobile sims game can do that with such detailed intensity", said Karine Kaiser, Marketing Deputy Director of Gameloft. There is a high chance for the game to become quite popular, as "The Settlers brand has set the standard for strategy and economic simulations, and the mobile game is sure to fulfill players' expectations", she further added.

The "Launch of the Settlers" mobile game will be out on the market starting with the beginning of October 2007 through the portals of Gameloft's 170 partner operators in 75 countries.
