Nintendo, as the developer and publisher, and The Pokemon Company, as the holder of the intellectual property, have announced that they have teamed up with specialist retail chain GameStop to deliver a special character based offer for those who are fans of the franchise and are interested in the new Pokemon Black and White at stores.

The offer is available from now until February 6, 2011 and players will need to take their Nintendo DS handheld and a copy of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold or Soul Silver to their local store in order to get access to Shiny Raikou, Shiny Entei, and Shiny Suicune, depending on the day they come in.

To get the new characters, players need to have the Pokedex and have no more than two Wonder Cars in their possession.

Any one of the three characters mentioned above can then be transferred into Pokemon Black or White when they are released in the United States and give any player a chance to then catch the rare and mysterious Illusion Fox Pokemon Zoroark.

This special character cannot be obtained through normal gameplay in the two versions of the game, making the GameStop and Nintendo offer pretty attractive to those who are interested in getting as much out of the new Pokemon games as possible.

The hype for Pokemon Black and White will be increased with the release, on Cartoon Network, of a new feature film that stars characters from the games, called Pokémon-Zoroark: Master of Illusions.

In February fans will be able to see Zoroark and Zorua as they try to stop the trio of Raikou, Entei, and Suicune from attacking Crown City.

Pokemon Black and White has been a huge success in Japan, where it is already out and is set to be released in North America on March 6 of this year.
