It seems that once the news train for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gets going, there's little chance of stopping it, with retail giant GameStop showing off an exclusive poster that it will be offering to those gamers who are ready to put their money down and pre-order the new game from publisher Activision Blizzard and developer Infinity Ward.
The image attached to this article was sent to the members of the Power Up Rewards program with
GameStop saying that it will not be making an official announcement about the promotion until later during the week but that they have a chance to get the poster early.
The TIME fake cover is pretty interesting and will probably make a nice wall decoration for the
Modern Warfare fan and GameStop says that the quantities on offer are limited so die hard players need to get to a store now in order to pre-order.
Information coming from a number of sources inside developer Infinity Ward, initially posted by Kotaku, offered a wide variety of information on the next Call of Duty game, which is expected to arrive on all major gaming consoles on November 8, smack in the middle of the fall launch season.
The action will follow well-known characters from the first and second game in the series as they continue their hunt for terrorist Makarov just as Russia and the United States continue to fight a devastating war.
New characters, among them Delta Force operative Frost, are being introduced and it seems that Infinity Ward will deliver more locations and more combat roles to play than ever.
Information also leaked about the multiplayer side of the game, with about 20 maps set to be on offer, although some might be launched as downloadable content, and with a whole new cooperative game mode on offer, Survival.
Infinity Ward has confirmed
Modern Warfare 3 is being worked on, but denied that the leak gives out the plot of the game.
