Point Lookout now available

It seems that those who love Fallout 3 and can't wait for the next bit of downloadable content for it, called Point Lookout, can now get it at GameStop, even if the official release date is only next week.

The retail chain has been selling a disk containing both the upcoming DLC and the already released Broken Steel, and those who bought it have reported that the codes activating the new Point Lookout work, which means that the fresh content is being played some days before God (Bethesda, that is) intended players to.

GameStop seems to have developed a habit out of breaking street dates. Not long ago, the same retailer released Stardock's Demigod earlier, which resulted in a whole litany of problems for the studio, probable lost sales and a lot of piracy.

Those among us prone to believing in conspiracies might even think that GameStop is doing the street breaking on purpose, with Point Lookout to make a point about DLC releases at retail and online and with Demigod underling digital distribution. So, rejoice that Point Lookout is available some days earlier but also keep in mind the fact that breaking street dates can lead to problems for developers and publishers.

In other Fallout 3 news, it seems that the final piece of DLC for the title, called Mothership Zeta, which is centered around the player being kidnapped by aliens, will offer a chance for them to get a lot more ammunition for the Alien Blaster, the nice piece of weaponry that you can find in a downed UFO. Bethesda is also saying that players might get their hands on more alien manufactured hardware, some of it more powerful than the weapons delivered via the rest of the DLC.
