Tom Crago, the leader of developer Tantalus, says that his team was under a lot of pressure during the port of Mass Effect 3 on the Nintendo Wii U.

He tells Gamasutra that, “In terms of design challenges, the biggest challenge, to be honest, was not screwing it up. It's a great game on its original formats and we needed to ensure we didn't break anything.”

The main difficulty linked to Mass Effect 3 was adapting the game to the new GamePad controller for the Wii U, which allows players to control the action using a touch screen.

Crago adds, “We handled the thing gently, and I feel like the stuff we've implemented gels extremely well. We made the power wheel interactive along with the level maps, and you can give orders to squad mates via the map on the GamePad.”

Mass Effect 3 is a launch title for the Wii U and will be offered on the date when the console is released on each core market.
