Gamemaker: Studio, a collection of software that is aimed at both entry-level novices and seasoned game development professionals, has received a Linux specific add-on on Steam.

Steam is known mostly as a gaming client, but Valve also provides software through the digital distribution service. Gamemaker: Studio falls right into this category and its developers have just launched a DLC, although the acronym hasn’t been used outside the gaming industry.

The DLC is called GameMaker:Studio Linux and it requires the GameMaker: Studio to run. According to the developers, this DLC will make it easier for to publish games to the Ubuntu Software Center.

Project can be exported as an Ubuntu Software Center-ready application, all from the one code base and all at the touch of a button.

If you are interested in this application you should check the official Steam website.
