The development team at Telltale Games says that it plans to include five playable characters in the upcoming Game of Thrones video game, which is based on the television series that is created by HBO based on the world of George R.R. Martin.

The information comes from Steve Allison, the vice president of the company, who is quoted by Game Informer as saying that they will all belong to the same family and that there are clear connections between the narratives.

He states, "In Game of Thrones we’re taking that multi-protagonist design even further with five playable characters from the same family whose choices affect everyone in the family, and that adds a whole new layer to things that we’re really excited about."

The same approach is being used for the company's other big new project, called Tales from the Borderlands, which is being created in partnership with Gearbox.

It's unclear whether all the five characters will exist in the same time frame or if Telltale Games has plans to explore multiple moments in the life of the Forester family.

Steve Allison also claimed once more that the first episodes for Games of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands will be out before the end of 2014, although no clear dates have been mentioned so far.

Game of Thrones will explore classic themes for the universe

The Game of Thrones video game will take place in the North and the development team at Telltale Games has recently revealed a new teaser image which talks about the Boltons and their habit of flying people alive in order to find out their secrets.

The studio has not yet offered any clear information about the narrative of its coming episodic video game, but it seems that it will include an entirely new house which will have to deal with some important moments that will tie into the larger stories of the universe.

The Game of Thrones project will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and last-gen consoles.

Presumably, the first season will have at least five episodes, one to cover each one of the included characters, but there are no details on how long each of them will take to complete.

Telltale Games is at the moment continuing to also work on its already established series, The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, which will both get full new season in 2015.
